Dear colleague,

 

please note that the Deadline for Abstract Submission and travel grant application for the upcoming 28th General Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG 2023) is extended to 21 February 2023.

 

Abstract submission and Travel grant applications are open until 21 February 2023.

 

Early-bird registration will close on 28 April 2023.

IAPSO sponsors Association symposia (P*), Inter-Association symposia (JP*), and co-sponsors symposia led by other Associations. Click here for the IAPSO program.

 

The IAPSO symposia will be scheduled between 12 and 17 July.  

 

The exact calendar will be drawn up after the deadline for the presentation of the abstract and their acceptance.

 

Will the event be hybrid?

No, it will not. There is no possibility of active virtual participation foreseen. Some plenary sessions might be streamed/recorded, and access provided for a special fee.

 

Eugene LaFond medal - call for Applications

Are you an ocean scientist from a developing country presenting your work at one of the IAPSO-sponsored/co-sponsored symposia?  Apply to the 2023 Eugene LaFond medal by sending an email, including a brief CV describing your education and research activities, to the IAPSO Secretary General (email) and copied to the President (email). Please specify in the email the title of the presentation, the symposium in which it will be presented, and in what form (oral or poster). Click here for more information.

Reduced fees are available for Undergraduate / Master student, PhD student, Retired/ Emeritus and attendees from Low and Middle-Income Country (OECD).


 

An administrative fee will be required per each abstract submission.

 

 

The IUGG 2023 Travel Grants Program is aimed to support students, early career scientists, and attendees from low and low-middle income countries (according to OECD definition) contributing to the scientific program with an accepted abstract.

 

The support can be requested to get a waived Registration fee at the early registration rate, a lump sum for Living/Travel Expenses or both.

If you need a Schengen visa to travel to the EU, please read this information carefully. 

 

The high demand, especially for Schengen visas, is currently leading to longer waiting times than usual. Please apply for your visa in good time.
