Call for proposals: next GBM Agenda and IAPSO Scientific Assembly 2021
Dear IAPSO National Correspondents,
Next IAPSO General Business Meeting
The next General Business Meeting (GBM) for IAPSO members will take place during the joint IAPSO-IAMAS-IAGA Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa, on August 31, 2017, at 17:30-19:30.
You are invited to send proposals for the agenda as soon as possible and not later than May 5, 2017.
IAPSO Scientific Assembly 2021
Please may I also remind you that the IAPSO Executive Committee welcomes offers from IAPSO members (countries) to host the next IAPSO Assembly in 2021. We are particularly interested in a three Associations Joint Assembly involving IAPSO, IAMAS and IACS that lasts 5-6 days.
It is important that the venue is suitable for this kind of meeting (good international air connections, preferably direct connections to the city, housing at different price levels, adequate meeting rooms, and local support etc.). Moreover, countries making offers must adhere to the ICSU policy of freedom of travel for scientists.
Note that IAPSO itself has very small resources for contributing to the practicalities of the meeting, which must be handled by the local organiser.
A letter of intent should be sent to iapso.sg@gmail.com by May 5, 2017. More formal bids will be requested from proposers by the end of June and will be discussed during the IAPSO Executive Committee Business Meetings in Cape Town in August 2017.
